What's new in JuicyType 0.9.5.11
JuicyType 0.9.5.11 adds Flatten — one command that turns a live effect into finished artwork — gives the panel a tighter top row and a gallery that arrives full of ready-made flavors. On Windows, a warning box that could hide behind Illustrator now comes to the front.
Flatten
- A new Flatten… in the ⋯ menu bakes the selected text into plain, editable paths: the effect becomes real artwork and live strokes become filled shapes.
- Two choices before you commit — Outline type turns the letters into outlines, Expand appearance bakes the effect itself.
- What you get back is ordinary Illustrator artwork: anyone can open it, and nothing depends on JuicyType any more. It is no longer live, so flatten a copy if you still want to edit the effect.
The panel
- The gallery now arrives with ready-made flavors to start from, instead of opening empty on a new install.
- The buttons along the top of the panel are smaller, leaving more of the panel for the effect you are working on.
- The + button opens the effects grid from wherever you are, including while the gallery is open — it used to do nothing there.
- The menu on an effect's title is the same ••• as the panel's main menu, so the two read as the same control.
Windows
- The message that says JuicyType switched to Speedview could open behind the Illustrator window, where it could not be reached and the program looked frozen. It now opens in front and stays there until you answer it.
Fixed
- Adding a flavor from the toolbar said nothing; it now confirms and the gallery refreshes.
- The first click on a slider in Settings did nothing unless you had already touched another field.
To update, close Illustrator, run the new installer, then open Illustrator again. Your license carries over.
